Kingdom of the Forsaken (2026)

New Release

Behind the gleaming walls of Arthena, humanity clings to the illusion of safety. At its heart, the mountain city of Heria thrives in luxury while the world beyond quietly unravels. Magic has been outlawed for generations, sealed away to prevent chaos. But it is waking again.

Eryndor, a sharp-tongued outcast, has been warning Heria for months. No one listens—few would believe the truth he hides.

Sorrel, a noblewoman suffocating beneath duty, longs to escape her gilded cage.

Shia, a mercenary haunted by her past, is drawn into a conspiracy that threatens the only family she has left.

Halston, the sole survivor of a magical massacre, will risk everything for sanctuary within Arthena’s walls.

Deep beneath Heria, Kerian, an immortal cursed with deadly magic, escapes decades of imprisonment. He brings the others together with promises impossible to ignore: freedom, safety, and the chance to undo what was lost.

But magic always demands a price.

As forbidden power resurfaces and alliances are tested, the fate of the kingdom hangs on fragile trust—because in a world built on secrets, salvation may come at a devastating cost.

Preorder Now

Kingdom of the Forsaken had me up all night turning pages. The twists had me gasping, and the romantic tension was out of this world. By the time the book was finished, I was desperate for more. I'll be first in line to buy the sequel.

Praise & Reviews

These characters had so much depth, and character development. They felt more like humans then characters in a book. It was well written. I don't normally give books five stars, but this one deserves it.

I was hooked from the beginning. It was fun to immerse myself in the dark fantasy created by the author, but the ending was so shocking I needed to take a day off work just to process it.

About Gwenyth Elise Hicken

Growing up with ADHD and dyslexia, books felt more like a battle than a break. Staying focused was hard, and literature rarely felt made for a mind like mine. At sixteen, something changed. I found my rhythm, and stories stopped being something I endured and became something I devoured.

Still, the books I loved weren’t built for fast, restless minds. They moved too slowly, lingered too long, or lost the pulse. So I wrote the book I wanted to read, one that never wastes a word and never lets the energy drop. What began as a private project grew into something bigger when others believed in it too.

Now I write for wild-hearted, neurodivergent readers, hoping even one person feels seen and fully immersed in a story made for them.
